i am a cell culture and banking scientist. day to day i am maintaining my assigned cell lines, ordering in reagents and media for upcoming expansions and working on any developmental projects going on in the team
Many of my skills have been developed over the last 4 years including: project management, aseptic technique, working to a high standard, data keeping and scientific write ups.
i enjoy it well enough. it is a lot of work to balance work and Uni at times but overall i think it is a brilliant way to gain experience in the industry
good
my line manager, team and above are all brilliant
the Uni has been very supportive, i have been able to work with them to alleviate issues i have studying as a dyslexic student
i think they have influenced each other. it is easier to work on assignments when you can see where it will lead. in the same vain the qualification reveils context to projects and developments going on in the company. ie a module on cell culture gave me background understanding of my role
