  • I work with my team to align on priorities. I work in the lab to make prototypes and taste with team to decide if further development is needed. I coordinate samples and feedback to key stakeholders on progress.

  • I've learnt leadership, organisation, time management and prioritization skills to be able to adjust to changing properties, capabilities and business goals.

  • I really enjoy getting hands o experience and working across different teams to gain different business perspectives., which feed into overall goals and ways of working.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I like how we have annual placements which give us enough time to gain depth of information but across our apprenticeship we get a broad range of experience and skills.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive 20% off the job hours, which I can use to study and gain experience and skills to help me in my studies and career development/progression.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have regular catch up's with my uni tutor, alongside my employer to align on support, concerns and needs. Which is really helpful. I also link to resources I have access to through the university just as articles and academic writing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me gain background knowledge and explore different aspects of the food industry that I wouldn't get as much exposure to in my current company/role. It is also nice to meet fellow industry professionals on the course.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I get involved with Netball and bake club. And sometimes future career networking sessions.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a hybrid working environment and there is a certain level of flexibility available. It is a supportive environment and encourages independant thinking.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Reflect on your skills and how they could contribute to the goals of the business, also think about what interests you and drives you to explore and find out more, as the company ethos is focused around purpose.
