  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am doing an an on the job role as a Nursery Nurse Assistant/ Apprentice I support my Room Leader and Nursery Manager and deputy manager. I help with Babies and toddlers personal care, teach them to communicate and develop through play and activities. I maintain their safety at all times. I take them for walks , supervise at meal times and help them get to sleep . And anything else as directed by my room leader

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • How to cut and prepare fruit and vegetables to prevent choking in babies and toddlers.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying my apprenticeship program very much there is lots to learn and is presented in an easy visual way. Now that I am used to One File . Took a while to get used to in the beginning yet I'm confident now. It's done in reasonable time constraints so not all at once.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say very well for my first ever apprenticeship. I am in my 50s now compared to the YTS scheme back in my early 20s this is more interesting.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots from my Room Leader she is very supportive and my Deputy manager she will give me any information I need for my learning.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot Lauren Masters understands my Autism and challenges and does not mind repeating things and explaining so that I can understand.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Half and half it helps to one extent. Certain aspects of my role begin to make sense once I study a certain topic.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Sadly no chance to team build 😕

  • Yes

  • I would as they are supportive and understanding of all people of abilities and ages and make everything simple to understand.

  • Just give them a go they are well rated online!!!
