  • My job role is a retail supervisor, who is working towards an assistant manager position beyond my apprenticeship. My day-to-day includes running the store, ensuring high levels of customer service and managing KPIs such as shrinkage, sales and stock levels.

  • I’ve learnt an array of skills such as managing and leading a team, coaching, HR, financial, communication and customer service skills.

  • I enjoy my programme as it will prepare me for an exciting and fulfilling career in retail management.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised well with a healthy balance of off the job training and practical experience and support from colleagues and fellow management.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer through my Area, Store and Assistant managers and my apprenticeship tutors whom encourage me for excellent career progression in retail.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a good amount of support from engaging modules, interesting workbooks, workshops, training programs and many more which help me gain further knowledge for my qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It allows me to gain access to a different source of knowledge which is different to what my in-store management team provides me which expands my knowledge within retail operations and service, which has been very beneficial towards my experience in this role.

  • No, not really, or I haven’t found or been informed about them.

  • Yes

  • Retail is always enjoyable and provides something different everyday and at Savers there is always different tasks to complete and team members to support each other to achieve success within all aspects of retail operations.

  • Consider this apprenticeship if you would like a step up or boost in knowledge to help you earn and reach a desired career within retail management.
