I currently work in In-Service Support Typhoon which involves answering queries about aircrafts by holding launch meetings with the relevent people to solve a problem.
The apprenticeship helps improve: team skills, talking to people you dont know, holding meetings, IT skills, mechanical skills in electrical, CAD, machining, aircraft fitting and lots more.
I have enjoyed my time so far in the apprenticeship as it covers many work areas and helps improve skills that otherwise wouldn't be used in other environments.
You always feel valued as part of the team even though you are an apprentice, people are welcoming and helpful towards you and always give you help if you need it.
The programme is well structured and organised into set time periods and areas that improve your skills and give you different experiences, being structured like it is you learn a lot.
You recieve support when ever you ask for it by either a supervisor, assessor, trainer or other people in your daily environment, help is always given when you ask.
I also recieve help and support from my employer when ever i ask for it, the support when given alwayts helps me solve my problems regarding what i asked about.
My salary meets my needs as an apprentice and is also a lot better paid than other similar apprenticeships, The salary however might not meeting peoples needs if they have a family to support or are older with more responsibilities.
There are lots of opotunities outside work to get involved in such as the innovation challenge, world skills and the german exchange which all help to develop skills.
Yes
The apprenticeship is very well structured and planned out to make sure you get the best training and help when required, they also dont start you in the "deep end".
When applying make sure you are well prepared for any questions that might come up so that you can give well prepared answers, also stay calm and dont worry.
