In the first 6 months you will be a customer assistant, this involves working stock , working delivery , tills , supervising self checkouts, de carding and specialist roles such as bakery and freshness.
People skills , time management, communication skills and presentation skills.
Being a customer assistant isn't that enjoyable after learning everything but the uni programme is really good and knowing you will have progression up to management after the 6 months makes the current role worth it.
The communication between Lidl and the university hasn't been great and needs huge improvement however my store manager is amazing and has been on to ball to get my training done. The uni programme is really well structured and planned.
My store managers have been very supportive but it is up to you to get that support when you need it.
I have a personal tutor i can contact anytime a long with my lecturer, it is up to you to make contact when needing support but it is there if you need it. The uni team also make sure my manager is following the right programme when we have our reviews.
I dont think there is a heavy correlation between our qualification and current role however I imagine once I go up to management there will start to be a link between the both.
