University has allowed me to study a range of topics specific to quantity surveying that you may not particularly learn in the day-to-day job
Extremely.
I have a set day release everyday. Vinci are understanding of personal problems and there is an opportunity to work from home if necessary.
I talk to my manager everyday surrounding my workload. My employer is very involved in my day-to-day work.
As well as the day release from university to attend lectures, Vinci are not hesitant when it comes to allowing time for study/overview content you may not be sure on that was covered in a lecture.
Some topics are relevant however technologies are forever changing so I don't believe university will ever truly capture the job role in it's essence, however topics are still relevant such as tips on excel sheets are covered.
I have had multiple opportunities for networking, such as a women in STEM meeting in London which is upcoming and an apprentice day in Sheffield. There are also webinars with other apprentices frequently which allows you to network.
Yes
They are a great company, offering fair pay, reasonable work hours and a workload and a company car. After the third year of the apprenticeship you are opted in to the pension scheme however you can opt into this earlier if you would like.
Be yourself and charismatic, they are not just hiring for good grades they also want a reliable, good human with a sense of humour to join the team. Just relax!
