Generally involves getting stuck in with lab work and experiments, doing real impactful project work. I also get involved with other apprentice and early talent activities, which is really nice to connect with other apprentices and early careers people
I've learned lots of new skills throughout my apprenticeship. From lots of lab skills, like cell culture, gene editing, and lots of different automation to help my lab work, it has helped me now independently plan and run my own experiments. Outside the lab, I've learnt a lot of skills, like coding, leadership and time management - which is very important for an apprentice!
My programme is really enjoyable, letting me learn relevant and current science knowledge and techniques, in a hands on manner, whilst working on real projects in the business.
Very well structured - we have a dedicated apprentice team in the company who help with the on boarding and are always there to support you throughout the years. They also provide structure to line managers, who are then able to better navigate managing an apprentice!
Lots of support! We have a dedicated apprentice team who are always available to help, but mostly, on a day-to-day experience, my line manager, team and mentor support me really well. We also are buddied with other apprentices who provide additional support from an apprentice point of view.
Lots! Teams are relatively social at Astrazeneca, but additionally we have apprentice and early talent socials to meet with other early careers people!
Yes
It's a great company to work for, where they push you to achieve your best, whilst feeling incredibly supported by the network of people you are surrounded by.
Be yourself and remember to draw on any experiences you have to show how you would be a good fit! Definitely have a look at the values to understand how your experiences align to these.
