I am responsible for all recruitment activity across a portion of the Knightsbridge store and our Security services. On a day to day basis, this includes building and reviewing attraction strategy and processes, taking hiring manager briefs, advertising roles, sourcing and screening candidates, preparing stakeholders for interviews, and delivering interview outcomes.
During my apprenticeship, I have learnt various theories and models that I have been able to incorporate into my stakeholder management - allowing me to be more effective and streamlined in my work processes. I do not feel as though I have learnt any totally new skills as of yet.
I enjoy the content of my programme - the content and my tutor (delivering learning content) are both really interesting and engaging. The learning aspect is enjoyable and I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to further my continuous professional development.
The programme is well-structured, however I do not necessarily get the structure or support I would expect from my skills coach. Typically, enquiries are not responded to and there have been a number of instances where I have had to escalate or attempt to self-serve.
I receive good support from my employer - my OTJ time is always respected and any resources I require are always supplied if possible.
My tutor is fantastic with providing support, answering queries, and delivering both learning and practical information. My skills coach is less supportive, with all interaction being reactive and feedback/responses sometimes being very delayed.
The wider contextual learning and opportunity to understand/view things through different lenses is hugely helpful and definitely enhances my in-role performance.
Yes, although I personally do not partake.
