At the moment I am in planning for production control and logistics. My role is resourcing and on a day to day basis this involves: absence reporting activities were I attend absense reviews with product managers and shop floor supervisors and produce weekly packs for different departments. Producing dashboard summaries, monitoring suspence files and updating headcount trackers. The work is really interesting and keeps you busy.
I beleive I have learnt really valuable new skills and developed existing skills throughtout my time in my apprenticeship. From everyday skills such as organisation and confidence as I am much more confident and organised than when I started my apprenticeship, to other skills such as first aid.
I really enjoy my programme. You get to experience different aspects of the business and work with different teams and with different people which gives variety to the apprenticeship, your not just doing the same thing day in and day out you're constantly learning new things.
I feel valued by BAE Systems as they invest alot of time and money into each of us as apprentices, they work to include apprentices so you are part of the team and not just there to pick up jobs nobody wants to do.
I feel my programme is very well organised and structured. Everything has always ran smoothly for me and with no problems and if there is it gets sorted out very quickly.
We recieve alot of support from the training centre, we have formal reviews with our assesors and they will come around and help us out with any NVQ work, problems etc if we ask.
I recieve alot of support from my employer, they are always willing to help me if i have a problem or I am stuck with anything. They will give you additional support if you need this.
I think our salary package is really good for an apprentice. I am able to easily pay for essentials such as my board, diesel for my car etc and still have plenty of money left over to enjoy.
I would say there are many opportunites outside of work, with flexi time you have time to go out and do whatever you need/want to do as you can be flexible with your time.
Yes
I would reccomend BAE Systems to a friend beacuse I think its a really good company to work for and the apprenticeship scheme is a really good opportunity to take.
To other people applying for an apprenticeship at BAE Systems I would say you should do some research on the company itself and the different schemes they offer and what they involve before you apply.
