Day to day I advise clients and discuss opportunities with potential buyers, including show them round properties. I also do site inspections and prepare consultancy reports. I also negotiate heads of terms with solicitors and agree sales. I prepare marketing materials and run pricing models.
I have improved my negotiation skills and client management. I have also developed valuation skills, specifically using the discounted cash flow method.
I love my job, and look forward to coming in to the office everyday.
It is well structured. I do four days (Mon-Thurs) working, and one day (Friday) studying for my degree.
Lots of support. I work alongside a director and associate director. I learn through shadowing them, in addition to training they give me. We set goals. I also use the Savills Learning resource to develop skills. The talent development team help with the APC learning.
As much as I need. I have an apprentice officer who is my point of contact if I have any issues. We are also able to contact the module leaders for additional support and the student support team.
The learning is not always relevant to my day to day job, but it is important to have an understanding of the basics and develop transferable skills.
I am on various social committees within the office, division, and city. I am also on the charity committee, sustainability enabler, fire warden and qualified first aider. I have also started a lunch time running group.
Yes
Savills is a great company who supports their employees. I have been able to join various training courses to further my professional development. I am recognised for good work. The people who work here are all very friendly. It is a nice environment.
Presentation is important, be yourself, have a basic understanding of the role you are applying for, any big deals in that sector, a basic knowledge of the market (all of this is available on our website!)
