  • An overview of my role is a bit of everything as it's my first time in a working environment. So, the director of the company said to do a bit of everything, so you learn what you like and what you don't to help you figure out you career path.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • One of the main existing skills i have developed is communication and the type of correct phone etiquette that should be used in a business environment. I Fulfilled this by answering the phone and talking to a range of different clients. One new skill i have learnt is time management as prioritising tasks is key.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love the work experience at HB Accountants as it boosts your confidence as you are dealing with new situations and tasks that are fun but can challenge you. The tasks they set are actually what you would do in that career path which makes it more helpful as you are experiencing what work life will actually be like.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well structured as my manager made an onboarding plan of tasks to complete and everything i will learn during my time here.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive so much support from my employer. For example, if I am stuck on a task, I can ask for help freely and she will come help me. Also, if I need something explained to me, she will explain it to me in a way that I can understand and as many times as i need.

  • I receive support from school by face-to-face meetings and regular emails.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think the course I take gives me a massive advantage to perform better as I have already learnt some of the knowledge used and now, I am seeing it being used in a working environment

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are plenty of activities from a Pt session on Thursday to professional working events. For Example, BID networking meetings and ladies lunch that help get local businesses to gather together to discuss upcoming and events.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone as the people are amazing, and they can be very professional but also friendly which makes it a great team to be involved in. They also take the time to teach you everything that you want to know but they also let you work independently on tasks which helps develop your confidence.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HB Accountants?
  • One tip I would say, is it will be the best experience you have, and definitely not what you would expect as they are not scary accountants which makes you experience so much more joyful.
