As an quite new apprentice I normally play a supporting role, marking up drawings or making tables for people.
Yes, I've learnt how to use ProjectWise, a little bit of AutoCAD, and become more experienced with Excel and Outlook.
I enjoy my work quite well, the team are nice and explain anything I don't get. At university it is more difficult to get a good explanation if I don't understand something.
I sometimes feel like I'm given unnecessary information about some things, or the same thing over and over, and not given enough about others. I would rather things were more clear.
I get a lot of support from my line manager and one of my colleagues offered to help me with my structures work which is very helpful.
I get the lectures on a thursday and some progress review meetings, but I don't feel like it's very easy to ask questions if I don't understand something in the lectures, and I'm not given enough time to be able to ask outside of lesson.
I'm still quite new to the role, so not much from uni has come up yet, but somethings have been helpful just sort of seeing how things work.
Yes, I haven't looked into these a lot, I tend to prefer doing the university societies, but I know that there are some.
Yes
I'm enjoying working here and they might too
Ask questions if you don't understand, people will be happy to explain to you
