My role involves assisting the team to develop winning pursuits from early market engagement to bid submission. My role consists of arranging meetings, bid planning, drafting, document review, general support to senior members of the bid team and submitting tenders and PQQs in line with client requirements and deadlines. The nature of the job can mean working on multiple live bids at a time and is an extremely varied role.
I have learnt all of the skills needed to be a good pursuit coordinator through the apprenticeship and learning on the job. I have also developed further soft skills such as attention to detail, professionalism and presenting.
I really enjoy the programme. I think the apprenticeship has supplemented my learning and development well giving me the background knowledge needed to be successful in my role.
The programme has been well organised and structured from the beginning. The delivery plan and expectations have been clear from the start so you are aware what is needed to be done to progress through each of the programmes of learning with ease as well as the long term goal of completing EPA.
I have received excellent support from my employer from line management, closer and wider teams in the business. This support has allowed me to excel in the apprenticeship and my job role. Support has been available whenever needed and I have had a good amount of calls structured in with various colleagues to check on my progress and to offer support as well as having the opportunity whenever needed to seek further questions and support whenever required.
I receive great support from the training provider. Quarterly progress reviews are scheduled with my learning coach and line management to keep track on my progress as well as having the opportunity to book in for 1-1 meetings whenever required to ask any questions. In addition any emails are responded to in a timely manner.
I feel as though the qualification has really helped me in my role as I had no bidding experience previously. The programme has encouraged me to think deeper about my role and also prompted me to ask further questions about my role and the business to colleagues which I may not have thought of before in order to help answer assignments. This has been invaluable coming from a different background. Although I feel that a lot of of what I have learnt could have been picked up overtime with experience working on the job.
There is the opportunity to get involved in extra-curricular activities such as football teams, charity days, office socials at the end of each month and professional networking events.
Yes
I would highly recommend Arcadis. They are a great employer. Everybody I have come across has been friendly and extremely supportive. There is a lot of opportunity for career progression and development in the company. They take pride in their values and are a people first company where work life balance is important and there is good flexibility.
Research the company well, learn Arcadis values and why they are important to you. Make sure you have fully understood the job role and relate any skills and experience you have to the role.
