  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a degree apprentice involves providing assistance to the principal engineers on various projects. Each week brings new challenges; some days I might be working on CAD tasks, while on other days, I could be focused on writing reports.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • From the day I started, my experience in the civil engineering field was quite limited. Over the past few months, I have had the chance to work on various projects, learning the company's CAD systems, collaborating closely with team members to learn from them and gaining a deeper understanding of how civil engineers approach problem solving. I have also developed my technical writing capabilities, allowing me to produce clear and concise reports.
