I deliver workshops to year 7-13 children in schools and colleges giving insights into the world of work. I research and prepare work-related presentations including: The World of Work, Apprenticeships, Social Media Curation, Interview Techniques, LinkedIn Introduction, CV Writing and others. These are delivered virtually or in person in.
Yes. As a L5 coaching apprentice, this has enhanced my leadership skills, and how I coach young people and peers alike to help them reframe problems and empower them to find the answers within themselves to find appropriate solutions.
The content is excellent, as is the organisation, and the delivery.
Very well. There are monthly online training and learning sessions, with regular tutor reviews and feedback sessions. These reviews also include feedback from my line manager.
My line manager is very flexible and understanding (as she is also on the programme), I also have health issues that can impact on my availability, and I have always been fully supported in this.
The support from MBKB is excellent. My tutor is a great coach and motivator. She holds high standards for all of us in the cohort, and is accessible to answer queries and walk you through processes. They also offer wellbeing support.
Incredibly well, it has raised my awareness of business processes and the different leadership styles and empowered me to develop myself. Coaching is a fundamental tool for supporting, negotiating, and building rapport and meaningful relationships.
Yes, there are many local and national events and opportunities.

Having worked for the department for over 20 years, they have become more invested in CPD, even where it doesn't directly link to your job role. They have allowed me to develop areas of interest linked to my skills and strengths enabling me to add value in my own unique way.
Prepare yourself for a long and intense application process by understanding how your skills, strengths and values align with the department's success profiles. It is a difficult process but worth the effort.
