  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The role of procurement is to ensure that goods and services are purchased to achieve the best value for money. It also involves reducing costs and managing contracts, negotiations and supplier relationships. As a procurement apprentice, on a day to day basis I interact with different stakeholders, support colleagues with projects such as RFP's, manage contracts and perform data cleanses in platforms such as Ariba (where all contracts and projects are uploaded) to ensure everything is up to date and accurate.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel my programme is very well organised. When first starting my apprenticeship, I was introduced to all colleagues in the procurement team, spending a week with each category to ensure I gained an insight into the similarities and differences between them. I have been provided with all the necessary support, specifically when ensuring I complete my 20% of the job hours, revising for my exams.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is an early careers network in place, not just for procurement, but all WTW apprentices. This includes networking events/lunches and regular meetings covering different relevant topics. In terms of my team, we regularly attend social activities/events outside of work, where we get the chance to develop relationships.
