Day to day, i undertake admin tasks in order to assist my commercial team. I partake in meetings, MS and face to face. I manage subcontractors and ensure works undertaken run smoothly.
I have developed my Excel and Microsoft skills massively since starting. I have also developed further skills on Fire training on the Balfour Beatty academy along with other courses that have been delivered such as driver safety.
I enjoy my programme because it allows me to have my academic study day set aside on a Friday and the other 4 days i manage my workload ( Monday to thursday).
My programme seems very well structured from what i have experienced up to now.
My line manager provides me with valuable support in all aspects of being a trainee QS.
Since starting in September 24, i have received plenty of support.
I find myself being able to partake in more in-depth conversations before starting my university studies.
Yes there are social activities and networking events that i regularly attend.

As a new starter, my commercial team has provided me with lots of support and encouragement where required. The Balfour Beatty early careers team also provide lots of training and events to encourage integration with other apprentices and graduates.
I would advise for others applying to try and undertake work experience before hand like myself, so you can network and create connections at the early stages of your career.
