As a Degree Apprentice working as an Applications consultant, I work on a range of activities, ranging from technical work in SAP, Operational work for my client or coursework towards my degree in IT Consulting, so I get lots of exposure and have a massive range of work. Examples of tasks are maintaining my clients systems, working on incidents or managing incidents on the operational side. I regularly communicate with a whole range of different engineers, Service Delivery managers and our clients themselves.
I've learnt a multitude of different skills, ranging from consulting skills whilst working with the client, technical skills when learning different kinds of SAP, Cloud platforms and even Generative AI. On the operational side, I have learnt to hone a lot of my organisational and time management skills.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my programme so far, and have been very fortunate to develop so many of my skills. I think the Apprenticeship Degree programme in particular is brilliant as I'm not only learning in university but also putting these skills to the test in my day to day job. It's the best of both worlds really! It has provided me with so much exposure and I feel as though I've developed massively in my career since joining Capgemini
The programme is very well structured. Capgemini have put in place a really sturdy foundation of support with people to help you at each stage to ensure you're reaching your fullest potential. At each stage you have a clear idea of where you should be and ways to develop for the future.
I receive lots of help from Capgemini, from working here for coming up to 2 years now, I have realised how supportive everyone in Capgemini are. I recieve loads of support from not only my team and managers but also from people within the senior leadership team that find the time to catch and help me with any queries I may have
I receive lots of help, from university coaches who help me manage my uni workload, managers who support me with completing mandatory training courses and the company provides plenty of opportunities to further develop my skills if I choose to do so.
I feel that it massively contributes towards performing better in my role as the work I do towards my qualification massively transfers to my day to day work
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities such as becoming part of the events teams, participating in social events, sports teams and networking events
Yes
Because I believe it is an all round amazing company with a great culture, super supportive managers and plenty of learning opportunities that help you develop in your career
Research the company a lot, who we are, what we do, our clients etc. Have some previous experience that directly relates to the role you are applying for and focus on building relationships with the people you are interviewing with at each stage. Capgemini has a lot of emphasis on culture and look for well-rounded, like-minded people. And of course, the generic answer...be yourself!
