I work within the continuous improvement team supporting and managing projects across the site. I work with stakeholders across varying levels/areas of the business and with the customer. I am responsible for updating trackers across the site, attending weekly finance meetings and encouraging site engagement for CI initiatives.
I have learnt new skills, such as project management and understanding of finances. I have developed my communication and people management skills.
I am enjoying my programme because I have gained skills and learnt on the job. My university work links well into what I am doing. I have had the opportunity to visit other sites to see different operations and to network with senior members of the business.
My degree programme is structured well. My apprenticeship programme is 2 x 2 year placements, which is good for getting different experiences.
On a day-to-day basis, I receive good support from my line manager and the NGT team are there if I need further help.
I receive good support from my university coach and lecturers, particularly during my tripartite reviews.
My course covers various areas such as warehousing and transport operations, financial management and supply chain analytics, which help me to perform better in my role because they link well to what I am doing in my day-to-day.
I have had the opportunity to attend and speak at a parliamentary reception and an ISE awards evening. There are lots of other extra-curricular activities available to get involved with, such as the GoTeach programme, the Big Logistics Diversity Challenge and residential trips.

DHL has given me some amazing opportunities for development, and I am able to learn and earn at the same time. DHL is keen to support and celebrate its apprentices, and has clear strategic goals throughout the company.
Do your research on the company, be passionate and have a can do attitude.
