We as administrators essentially process and administrate everything to do with pensions in a hands on manner, which can be calculating and applying benefits, processing new pensioners and deaths, and communicating with members themselves
I have gained lots of knowledge on pensions, of which I did not realise how important they are until now. I have also gained computer skills and being able to communicate with members, colleagues and external entities such as solicitors in a formal manner
I really enjoy what I do, the work is interesting and varied and I have a good group of colleagues and apprentices to talk to
There is lots of information to learn but the apprenticeship is well structured
We get lots of support from our employers as we get study leave to prepare for exams, and financial rewards for passing them.
Again, we get lots of support from the growth company as we can interact with them when needed, and will give us leeway if reasonable. For example, i was off sick for 2 days last week and they let me have an extra 2 days to do an assignment
Very well as we learn KSBs (Knowledge, skills and behaviours) which are integral to my role.
Yes - I want to participate in the football tournament when it comes up
Yes
I already have - it is a good place to work with friendly people, good pay for an apprenticeship and the chance to go to other offices and network with other apprentices. I get on with everyone here
Make sure to be engaged and seem enthusiastic, and be willing to learn. Always answer questions
