I talk to customers, vendors, liaise with clients, make orders, quotes and raise purchase orders. We do a lot of networking, travel to different offices, and have loads of company events. We work in teams on different accounts and build good relationships with partners.
I have improved my IT skills, my interpersonal skills and teamwork, communication and time management. I have learnt a lot about business etiquette and professionalism as well as developing my existing problem solving skills.
I enjoy it a lot as every day is different and there’s always something to look forward to. It’s great for meeting new people, networking and working in a professional environment. We also have a great training provider who makes our journey easier.
It is very well structured as we have a set study day, 2 days to work from home and 3 in office. This balance makes the workload very manageable and allowed us to settle in very smoothly. We had a structured training programme before moving into the office in September.
We receive a lot of support from our line manager and senior management. Everyone was very welcoming and happy to help us learn. This made it very easy to settle into the office and the company has many perks and incentives that keep employees motivated and looked after which is another positive about working for ComputaCenter.
Our training provider is babington and we have our skills coach who is always available and caters to our needs. She always extends deadlines if we are struggling with workload, she gives us feedback on every single piece of work we submit, she flags every small detail and gives us ways to use those experiences in our work and is always available to offer support even when it’s not our study day.
It helps a lot as our work involves us looking deep into the business and gaining a thorough understanding of it. This helps us learn about all the little details that we can easily miss and makes sure that we are learning subconsciously as well as consciously.
ComputaCenter offer a range of networking events, from vendor events, to social gatherings, outreach programmes, etc. These can all be added to our apprentice portfolio as part of our program and logged as off the job hours which contribute towards gaining our qualifications.
Yes

Be confident, ask loads of questions because people here are always happy to help, always be proactive as people will notice when you are making an effort and network with anyone and everyone as this will help you in the long run.
