I am currently a software development apprentice in Risk who has focused on the automation and production of processes and systems for stakeholders within the department. My work day-to-day mainly consists of project work meeting specific deliver dates weekly.
Yes I have both learnt new skills and developed existing skills. These skills include coding, data analysis, software development approaches and methodologies. I have also developed my soft skills such as -interpersonal and team building skills.
I'm finding the programme extremely helpful for my development in all areas and has also been quite enjoyable to have the opportunity to learn whilst gaining real world experience.
I would say the programme is structured fairly well however there were some scheduling miscommunications initially.
I receive ample support from my employer whether that be given time to study for my apprenticeship programme or shadowing opportunities with more senior members of the business. I have been happy with the support I've been provided.
Generally the support has been good especially from my coach however the initial training delivery wasn't particularly engaging or interactive but since the switch of trainer delivering the content, I've enjoyed the training sessions much more.
I feel that my qualification has significantly helped me to gain a better context and understanding of my role completely and I have found this to be extremely helpful.
Yes I take part in the badminton club occasionally and am planning to join the run club at some point.
