  • The company I work for is amazing, there is a lot of work but it is managable. It is just very long.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Engineering, programming, lots of different software, soft skills such as presentation skills and communication, management, BIM, Digital, others.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think that I enjoy the work side of things the most and the university work supports my work. The Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) work for my future. The university work is the worst part and the course is very long, so can feel draining when also working too.

  • The programme is really structured and I get a lot of support from work when necessary.

  • Lots and lots of support whenever I need it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I think that the support is there if I need it or ask for it but it is usually not too required.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that it is typically the other way round where my role helps my qualification but there are definitely times where I feel more informed.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a lot of extra curricular activities with an entire Sports and Social team within each office that create events almost weekly. I have been to multiple conferences in multiple different locations and even got to go abroad for some too.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Mott MacDonald to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a great company that is employees first. I think that in a world where companies will take advantage of their employees, Mott MacDonald is management owned and has an appreciation that a happy worker is a good worker.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mott MacDonald?
  • I think be yourself, show your interest in improving society and show that you have a personality that alignes with our company morals/ethos.
