My job is to proactively search for talent in 'hard to fill' areas of the UK and keep them warm in a talent bank to ensure we have a strong external succession plan.
My HR knowledge has been improved significantly, including employment law. The apprenticeship enabled me to discover new parts of my organisation and encouraged many great conversations.
I really enjoyed the programme, my lead trainer was imperative to my success and it has improved confidence in my field massively. I would not think twice about doing another apprenticeship in the future.
My programme was very well structured and M&B was very supportive of my learning too. My workshops were well spaced out and I had enough time to complete each of my assignments. I received each of my assignment results fairly quickly and was always given some great feedback to improve.
I was given a lot of support and recognition from my employer throughout my apprenticeship. I was allowed the time on a weekly basis to spend solely on my work, and my line managers were always happy to answer any of my questions, or to direct me to someone in the organisation who could help.
My trainer provided me with structured reviews to offer support and guidance. She was also very speedy when replying to my emails if I had questions, and often offered to hold additional calls if I needed that extra support on particular areas. It felt that she was always championing me to reach my potential.
I have definitely felt more confident in my role, when having conversations with stakeholders I am feeling more like the subject matter expert in my field. I am currently going through interviews for premotions and believe that this qualification is essential to get me to the next level in my career.
At M&B we have a lot of extra-curricular activities, it is up to the individual how much you would like to be involved! I am part of the social committee, which involves organising social events for our teams to mix and share common interests for example; reading, knitting, running, food etc.

Mitchells and Butlers are industry leaders in hospitality, I am very proud to work for a company who invests so much time and money into its people and businesses. In my 14 year career with them I have always felt valued and respected.
Working in hospitality is all about showcasing your personality! So make sure this shines in everything you do, from CV to interview. Also, make sure you visit a business beforehand so you know what sort of environment you will be working in.
