As a Digital Marketing apprentice I work within the Group Development team. Helping with social media and shadowing other parts of the marketing team. Day to day I do community management, draft captions for social posts, attend meetings and assist in running North America’s Instagram account.
Public speaking skills have improved through outreach events and sitting on the apprentice panel. I have also improved my attention to detail, communication and organisation skills.
I really enjoy my programme. Everyday is different and the opportunities are endless. I work with new people all the time, creating new connections and growing my stakeholder.
Very well structured. I like how I have a say in what I learn and grow my skills within. The programme ensures I cover as many parts of digital marketing as possible such as creative, account based and social media.
I receive a lot of support. I have weekly 1-1 sessions with my manager to ensure I am on track. If I need support there is always a helping hand.
Aston university provides a great support network. I have had multiple 1-1 calls with my module leaders to help with upcoming assessments or past content I needed more help with. I also have a mentor who meets with me every month and provides guidance and support.
My degree helps me understand certain concepts in the workplace and a good transfer of knowledge. I also am improving my writing skills which help when writing social media captions.
Yes, I participate in Early Careers outreach events showcasing our apprenticeship programme to local schools through a range of activities such as speed networking.
