  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is IT Disaster Recovery Coordinator working on one of the DXC UK Secure Accounts. The whole premise of the role is to coordinate arrangements to mitigate disaster and data loss by testing various infrastructure and systems in order to simulate a disaster and prove that it is resilient.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned lots of skills such as Project Management, Resource allocation, data analytics, change management, service now and more. DXC provides internal and external training fully funded such as aws cloud practitioner certification or APM certification.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the academic program immensely as there is lots of opportunities to network with peers through their knowledge sharing sessions. There are many young people to collaborate with.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My data technician program will kaplan is very well structured, training is in blocks and they where coupled up quite closely together so we can quickly pick up a range of skills and then apply them to our role which gives us lots of time to focus on the job and build our portfolio by working on projects.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer as I have regular 1-1s with my manager who supports with everything and helps me with everything.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Kaplan are very supportive and my talent coach has regular meetings with me and helps me a ton.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gives me the critical data skills that are necessary for my job such as excel spreadsheet. Charts to track incidents

  • Lots of knowledge sharing sessions, stem events and engagement events

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a very cutting edge technology company which gives you the chance of working on billion dollar projects and accounts which really gives you so much credibility in the space.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DXC. Technology?
  • Just be proactive and don’t be scared to ask questions
