I am a application support engineer, this consists of incident management and investigating issues with apps on the account, also applying updates to certificates, critical tasks to ensure apps are patched/restart procedures.
I Have learnt many new technical skills from networking, programming, DBs, management.
I would say the foundation of the programme is amazing but there are tweaks to made, clarity of Uni course, what the year plan of modules would be good.
From a Company point it is spot on, but the apprentice and Uni side has been wobbly at times, leading to confusion and frustration
From the Employer aspect i have no problem, the support and guidance is amazing, always someone there if any issue and concerns arise
So there is support, it has been provided but i think it varies from person to person and their attitude.
i feel it has improved my foundational knowledge of certain topics, but there are some modules that dont correlate to my day to day role
I am in two 2 stretch assignments involving the production of two applications for internal use, I am an engagement ambassador that runs sessions/events for the academic program, i produce and create content such as videos and quizzes and i am also a leader of a gaming community that is launching this month and will help to create networking environments for the members of the academic program to have fun and network out to others outside of work.

The opportunities that DXC provide to us is something i have never seen before, the room to grow, learn and experience here is outstanding. the support and care that comes from everyone makes you feel welcome and really builds your confidence. There are many career pathways and courses that DXC will provide and this is amazing especially to starters/Early Career/entry level people, just the option to change your path is reassuring that if for some reason we didnt like the career path we was going down, we could change it is amazing.
Be vocal, fight the imposter syndrome, be engaging, show your worth, present what you have to offer, if you can do these steps the doors will open, you will grow and succeed in you career here at DXC
