An overview of my role is that I am within Inside Sales. Some of the day to day activities are processing orders for our customers, looking at order reports, finding Estimated Delivery Dates and Proof of deliveries for our customers. As well as this we need to liaising with internal and external teams. I would also have a study day once a week, which would be task sheets from Babington.
Communication- Developed this skill to be able to communicate to a variety of people and Computacenter and when talking to our customers. Interpersonal Skills- Developed this to be able to talk to new people everyday and be able communicate, interact, and work with individuals and groups better. I've also developed time management and being more organised whist working at Computacenter and being able to organise my day to get everything done on time. I've learnt new skills whilst working on different applications.
I am happy with the programme and enjoying it.
The programme is structured well with you having one day for your studies and four days working on the job a week. There are a lot to learn on the job, however the company are good at organising training on areas we need to learn, know and develop. Having that one day for studies as well gives you a good work and study balance as you know you can focus that one day on getting things done from task sheets and more. When it comes towards the assessment time this is organised quite well in terms of the programme more time to work on preparing for these assessments.
From my employer I receive a lot of support for a variety of different reasons and they are always wanting the best for us and pushing us to achieve more.
From my training provider, I receive a lot of support when working towards my qualifications with all my task sheets marked and with good constructive feedback and any improvements that could be made or points to remember for the assessments. As well as this I have been given support when working towards my qualifications with my skills coach who is always happy to book in a meeting to go over anything that you may be struggling on. When working on the end point assessments if I needed help my skills coach would be happy to put in some time and go over anything needed.
I feel that the qualification has so far enabled me to perform better in my role and I feel that I am communicating better but also what I have learnt from the task sheets have helped understanding the other areas in the business and how they contribute to my role but also the wider picture involving the business and the impacts it has on that and therefore how it can impact me.
There are professional networking events which are great if you get invited to them and a brilliant place to network with others. I have had a few networking events, including a conference that I attended and some events with vendors as well which are all nice to get involved with.
Yes
This is because there is support from all over the business who want you to succeed. As well as this there are a variety of opportunities Computacenter provides and helps you in developing your own personal development and helps to train you up. Also I would say that reaching out to other employees if you want to shadow or learn what they do, most of the time they are happy to help and will put some time with you in. Also with everyone being friendly and nice the overall culture feels great and makes you more motivated.
Be honest Talk about your strengths but also weaknesses- Have examples ready Update CV to the most current version Dont be afraid to ask questions Try and be involved in any events that do happen or if you have a chance to speak to someone in the area you may be applying to.
