Working as a Police Community Support Officer (not listed in the options). Working as part of a community policing team to support my Police colleagues and external agencies such as the local council to deal with community issues within my force area.
Bataris box, time management and interpersonal skills such as conflict management and reduction. As well as reflecting on my own practice and development.
There is a heavy work load in a short space of time without adequate support. My tutor through no fault of her own was not qualified to support-me through the course having not done it previously. in total over a 12 or 10 month period, (after the 10 weeks IPS).
Difficult to answer. I have nothing to compare it too. However, we have a set of questions to answer and while our assessor is accessible and provides feedback there isn't a lot beyond that, furthermore no one else at my station apart from another apprentice has done this course.
My employer has allowed me to study during my work hours, and has assessed my work and provided feedback, as well as supporting me to complete my assignments as much as possible. However this is directly in relation to my direct supervision and overall team.
