In my role, I support the employee lifecycle at Christie's. I am currently responsible for the EMEA Interns lifecycle in particular. I manage the HR inbox with our HR Coordinator to manage any quires employees have. I work with the HR Advisors, HR Business Partners, and the HR Director in EMEA regularly to support with paperwork and providing data from the companies monthly reports.
I have developed my confidence and communication skills. Particularly via face to face communication, i.e. hosting a welcome tour for new starters, as well as via email. I have also enhanced my analytical and attention details skills. I have learnt how to use the platform Workday to manage our employee data.
I am really enjoying the programme as is allowing me to grow both personally and professionally within my role. The programme has allowed me to study towards a Level 3 HR Support with a CIPD qualification. My team have been very supportive of my studies and helping me to learn in my role.
The programme is well structured and my team and the general business are highly understanding of my apprenticeship studies. Having a cohort of 35 apprentice who also joined at the same time has helped to build connection with those in the same place as myself.
My employer has been highly understanding of my apprenticeship studies and has allocated me a weekly day off to complete my studies. My team have been very supportive in understanding the requirements of my course and supporting in any tasks they may have the relevant knowledge on.
I have monthly catch up with my Skills Coach and also receive regular feedback once she has marked the tasks I have completed. I can always email her if I have any questions in the meantime too.
My studies have helped me to gain a deeper understanding of HR processes and legislations. The tasks have helped me to consider different aspects of my role and have deepend my knowledge of HR to relate to day-to-day tasks.
There is a variety of extra-curricular activities that I have attend to network within the business. Including charity events, our HR people week, departmental and apprentice cohort social events.
