My role on a day to day basis involves, contacting and having meetings with customers. Designing kitchens, presenting said designs to customers and adjusting them to customers preference. Then quoting and finally despatching the kitchen. I also work closely with my team discussing ideas and gaining advice.
This apprenticeship has helped me manage my work load, we did a module early on on how to tell what tasks are urgent and what to prioritise which I have used and found so helpful. It's also built my confidence as I have a wider knowledge on businesses and how they work.
I am lucky to find the programme very interesting making me enjoy it a lot more, I obviously enjoy some parts more than others however overall I find it very enjoyable and interesting.
The programme is structured extremely well, the website Aptem is very easy to use. Communication with my tutor is also very clear and supportive. Each module is layered out clearly and I've never struggled to find information.
Howdens have emailed a few times with encouragement, and my line manager has been very supportive. Taking time to join calls and performance reviews.
My tutor has been super supportive, she answers emails quickly, she always helps me when I'm struggling with an answer and she has definitely helped me with my confidence through our 121's.
It's given me a wider knowledge on business and how leadership works, I notice how my managers are leading so I can perform accordingly.
No there is not, we may occasionally go for dinner if there is a manager up or to celebrate a success.
Yes
It's a homely atmosphere where you build close relationships with your colleagues. Everyone is very motivated and there's a nice team culture.
I would advise people to look for promotions in Howdens it's good to get your foot in the door work hard and work up.
