  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role varies due to the demands from my team. I manage over 100 independent customers, selling a range of different products to the food service industry. I also manage our strategy on pricing and promotion tracking.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt a vast amount. How to present, lead, analyse information and how to convert opportunities are just a few of my experiences and skills gained. I have also built my confidence especially in public speaking.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work I do as I feel it's different everyday, alongside being challenged and supported by my team.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I'd say very well from an employer perspective. My university however are poor at organising and I do feel at times they forget that we are apprentices and have difficult challenges with time and diary availability.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A huge amount. I've been supported at great times and poor times, especially when it comes to outside of work. I'll be forever grateful for the time, effort and guidance Unilever provides.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From my University, unfortunately very little. We don't receive a lot of feedback and when we do, it tends to be quite generic. We also receive material that is outdated and labelled for other cohorts.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My sales training is incredibly useful. From the models to the practice, the training has improved my ability to sell effectively and improve my efficiency.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many opportunities to go above and beyond. As an example, I co-lead our programme that connects with schools in the south region to promote our apprenticeship opportunities.

    10/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The support, the global connections, the brands and so much more. The people are also great too!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Be yourself. Authenticity is so key!
