I receive requests for the creation/alteration of digital learning products. I analyse the needs of the learners to understand what is truly needed and then design and build the learning product. I will often work with different areas of the business and other members of the Learning & Development team.
Yes - I have learnt more about analysing customer needs and working with stakeholders. I've particularly enjoyed learning about the Pyramid Principle and Stakeholder Power Interest grid. I've also learnt that there are many prioritisation frameworks available and have worked through a design sprint.
I very much enjoy the program. There are some elements that I have struggled with - such as the amount of reading involved in the Discovery section of each module, however it has given me great foundation for the live training sessions.
Fairly well organised. There are times when activities may feel a little congested near the live sessions - such as deadlines for Apply tasks following the live sessions. However, when I have needed to make changes due to holiday and work load I have been listened to.
My Line Manager is very supportive and will always make time to talk through the work required for my apprenticeship.
When I started , I'd had a lot of holiday pre-booked which clashed with live sessions and needed to be changed. After some time, my DLC and I went through upcoming work and realised there would be too activities happening in a short time-frame, so we made amendments.
It has helped me to view my role a little differently. There are also techniques and tools I've learnt which I've discussed with my team.
The company has multiple diversity networks who sometimes run in-person events in the main offices. Everyone is welcome to attend these and they often have time for some networking at the end.
Yes
Mitie has a great variety of roles on offer. It's a company that cares about inclusivity as well as diversity. The number of apprenticeships on offer means many people are able to grow while in the company.
Look up what the company does and the awards it has won. Think about where you would like your career to go and whether there's an apprenticeship you may wish to do.
