General day to day roles involved within the business, such as taking customer queries and orders via phone & email, carrying out perpetual stock checks, checking off and putting away stock, helping our outside sales person in ordering parts for customers including non-genuine
I have learnt many new skills through my role, such as my confidence in dealing with customers face to face as well as over the phone and email, identifying parts for both DAF trucks and other manufacturers, including trailers, and general selling and supply chain skills and functions
I enjoy my apprenticeship as it allows me to be in a mixture of roles from one day to the next and i get to earn a wage whilst doing a job that I enjoy
Sometimes my training from my training provider can feel a bit out of the blue with regards to organising teams calls etc. however the courses themselves are generally well structured and engaging.
I receive lots of support from my employer, giving me time out where necessary to complete things such as teams meets courses and any work which I need to catch up with, as well as offering me the opportunity to go on training at DAF Academy
They offer me teams meeting with the course work which cover different topics each team which help toward the EPA , and also do 1 to 1 check ups between myself, my mentor and them in order to gauge if there is anything I require further support from them for
I feel that the learning that I get through my training provider isn't always relevant to my role, however it is still useful information to have if a different job role came up where such skills were necessary (such as large scale warehouse management etc.)
