  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I book in quotes and meet with potential customers to survey jobs and provide quotations for work they are requiring. I order materials and set up jobs and manage them from start to finish. I carry out health and safety checks will the job is underway and meet with client to check on progress. I create risk assessments and method statements for the jobs and carry out invoicing once complete.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to survey sites accurately and carry out final account measures. I have developed communication skills and confidence to speak Infront of unknown people. I have developed listening and note taking skills allowing me to gather key information required for tendering for jobs.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my programme as it gave me new experiences on how to manage different projects and how to deal with different scenarios.

  • My company had structured my programme well but there was some delays on the side of the college which meant that the programme ran longer than it should have done.

  • My employer offers great support and I know that I can ask them for help or guidance on any topic or time and I would be offered this.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I had a point of contact who would regularly review my work and give me guidance on how to improve and what I was doing well which was beneficial.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe this has given me further knowledge on management and reflects on how to improve in situations which I have taken into my role.

  • We have regular award events and celebrations which are good when we get to speak to people from other branches across the business.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Bagnall's provide great training to all employees and are positive on wanting employees to progress and they provide the help and opportunities for people to do this. Bagnall's are always looking for ways to improve and are implementing methods of working that are built for the future.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bagnalls?
  • Carry out your role to the best of your ability and speak up when you require help or have a question regarding something. Don't be afraid to try something new and look for ways to improve yourself and the team around you.
