The International Product Strategy Team is responsible for developing and implementing short-term investment solutions for clients, through pooled funds and separately managed accounts. The team provides a link between Investment and Sales Teams and internal partners, and is responsible for ensuring we have a holistic international product suite. My day to day involves dealing with requests from the sales and PM teams, market update and credit meetings, financial reporting, and completing client calls/requests.
I have done a mixture of both. The ability to gain real world experience has helped me progress my knowledge significantly. Balancing studying alongside this has also helped me develop my existing skills of time management for example, whereby I am completing my work set by my team and also studying for my CISI exams.
I really enjoy my program. Its made the transition from sixth form feel so natural and less like I have been dropped head first in the deep end. There is no feel of seniority and everyone in the firm is here to help. With help on tasks set from work to extra support with revision, BlackRock have a support system in place for all needs.
Very well structured, everything is logged and detailed in the files you receive before you start. This includes timing of webinars, timing of assignments and recommended time periods to take the exams.
As previously mentioned, you get support every step of the way no matter what the issue is or what it relates too, i.e. work or the revision side of things.
A lot of support, 6 weekly calls with your coach and the ability to reach our and email about any issue. Multiple mock test sections on the website including end of chapter tests and quizzes, online workbook aswell as paper copy and easily accessible lecturer who teaches the webinars.
The learning is directly relevant to my role as I am in the investment arm of the firm, it helps me constantly on a daily basis.
Yes we have a wide array of networks available, including BlackRock speaks, women in investments and social mobility network. Multiple volunteering opportunities via BlackRock gives and your team will indulge in many other activities including charity runs and trips abroad.
