My day-to-day role consists of attending regular meetings in which I am given responsibility over company commodities to deliver company targets. I am entrusted with leading meetings and given creative freedom.
As a buyer for JLR, I've improved my negotiation skills, learned effective supply chain management, and developed a strong understanding of market trends. I've also built solid supplier relationships and enhanced my cost analysis abilities. These skills help ensure efficient procurement processes
I enjoy the responsibility of my role as it allows me to take ownership of my tasks and make meaningful contributions. Being accountable motivates me to perform at my best, and I find satisfaction in meeting deadlines and achieving goals. This responsibility fosters my growth and builds trust within the team.
My programme is well-organised and structured, allowing me to maintain a good balance between university and work. The clear schedule and supportive environment help me manage my time effectively. This balance ensures I can excel academically while gaining valuable work experience, making the most of both opportunities.
I receive a great deal of support from my employer. They provide resources and guidance to help me succeed in my role, including regular check-ins, training opportunities, and a supportive work environment. This support helps me balance my responsibilities and grow professionally.
I receive substantial support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They offer additional time for coursework, which helps me manage my workload effectively. This flexibility ensures I can thoroughly understand the material and perform well in my studies, balancing both academic and professional commitments.
My qualification in supply chain management significantly enhances my performance in my role. The coursework provides me with a deep understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and the latest industry trends. This knowledge directly applies to my daily tasks, enabling me to make informed decisions, optimise processes, and contribute effectively to my team's success. The support from my training provider, including extra time for coursework, further ensures I can excel both academically and professionally.
Yes, there are plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work. We have multiple sports teams, including football, basketball, and cricket, which are great for staying active and building camaraderie. Additionally, there are regular social events specifically for early careers, providing opportunities to network and connect with colleagues in a relaxed setting. These activities help create a supportive and engaging work environment.
