  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves spending around 7 weeks with different departments within cyber. Each rotation I take on the role of the department and help with day to day tasks. Right now I am with the security operations centre where I deal with cyber incidents everyday.

  • I have managed to develop my communication and presenting skills alongside my technical abilities such as coding.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my program and I feel as though I have made the correct pathway choice. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in cyber.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is extremely structured as we have a plan for the 2 year course with the specific departments and their allocated time (e.g 7 weeks). Alongside this there are set courses I will be doing over the 2 years with online learning to help with these.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a great amount of support from my employer. I have regular catchups with my line managers alongside and in work mentor to help me build my personal skills.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is some support from the training provider. There supply pre learning courses we can take in order to help get the qualifications. There is regular 6 week catchups with my learning mentor.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualifications from the training provider help me with my technical knowledge. These helps with cyber as if you understand how technology works you can understand how to protect better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have regular lunches with other apprentices. Within my department we have regular meet ups as a chance for other departments to get together.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Computacenter has made me feel very welcome in to the company and I have felt very supported throughout. The community at computacenter is very kind and welcoming.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
  • Take your time trying to understand what the company does. Be yourself.
