  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently, I work in a PMO vetting role. This involves various team activities to ensure people meet the standards to work on certain projects. I'm finding this really interesting and my team is really helpful and supportive

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have greatly developed my communication skills, both written and verbal in this role. This was an ok skill of mine before this role but now I have far more interaction with a large variety of people day to day. This has improved my people skills and self confidence

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the program. As with all jobs, there are ups and downs but the help and support I have received throughout so far has been brilliant. I had a tough time towards the end of last year but was supported through this and feel I have come out the other side stronger.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised. I have a set structure each week with a dedicated study day and 4 working days. I have never had any issues in terms of my study day not being honoured

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive great support from my employer. Whether this be with general work as well as uni work and apprenticeship related. I have not had any issues with apprenticeship related support when needed

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive lots of support from them. Weekly sessions, quarterly review meetings and also support over email and teams whenever I need

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It allows me a greater understanding of all elements of the business (not just my own role). This makes me more open and understanding of different people's issues and circumstances and helps me to feel more well-rounded and useful

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of events that happen at the offices. They offer different activities and are always well attended

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The support is great and everything with the apprenticeship is very well structured and organised. I feel the apprenticeship is setting me up very well for my future career


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • Make sure to be yourself while in the application process. A lot of what is looked at is how you are as a person and your attitude and willingness to learn
