  • general running of a machining area, managing component production for 3 turbo assembly lines. responsible for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost of the area.

  • yes, broader knowledge and understanding of skills and tools to manage people, myself and operations

  • i do a remote program, but i really value the in class sessions

  • its more time away from work to undergo the apprenticeship program, any efforts i need to do in work i have to manage and arrange myself. this can sometimes be tricky when doing specific tasks

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • my manager is good in allowing me the time, but other than that i have to manage tasks and resource for the tasks myself

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • they're available on email for me to drop in and ask questions, the course does feel a little rushed. i think it would be a lot easier for them to support if it was in class mostly

  • i am still undergoing the apprenticeship program but i have already started to practice new method, skills and behaviors into my day to day working life

  • not really

  • Yes

  • its a pretty good place to work if you get into the right team


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
  • be honest and creative, it is a little too cooperate here and easy to get caught up in the "Cummins way" whereas most of the good ideas come from outside experience.
