I thoroughly enjoy being a Building Surveyor with CBRE and would recommend it to anyone. My day-to-day could involve being in the office working closely with colleagues, out on site surveying a variety of commercial buildings and projects, meeting clients and networking amongst the industry. No day is the same!
Every skill I now have in relation to Building Surveying is all due to this role. I have a much better understanding of common building practices and their associated defects, how to resolve these issues and how to look for them.
I really enjoy the programme and would highly recommend it to anyone.
The programme is well organised and structured in a way that allows me to develop and learn at a fast but appropriate pace. Since having zero knowledge of how to complete a Building Survey just 6 months ago, it is amazing to consider how much I now know and can recognize and benefit my colleagues.
I recieve a lot of support. Without the support I have been given, I wouldn't be as far ahead as I am.
Similarly, a lot of support. UCEM have been brilliant in providing the learning and support to assist alongside my day to day on the job learning.
Being only 6 months into the qualification, I can still confidently say that it is hugely helpful in me performing within my employed role. The qualification provides me with a great foundation of knowledge to apply in real world scenarios when completing my employed role. It also gives great guidance on how to act within the professional world as well as providing good ideas for additional reading.
There are many many many many many extra-curricular activities to get involved in at CBRE. It is truly endless. There are football teams, rugby teams, running teams, cycling, triathlons, rowing and they are happy for you to put new teams forwards. It is truly a great community to be part of.
Yes
They provide fantastic support to their employees. They allow for autonomous working and allow you to develop and your own pace and are willing to help out where possible. The lifestyle and community of CBRE is truly one of a kind and I would gladly recommend the company to anyone.
Be yourself! Cliche, but very true. Be confident in being your best self and go in putting your best foot forwards. Don't try to 'beat the interview', just be yourself and show them that you can be reliable in getting the job done.
