on a day to day basis, I inspect and repair press tools using overhead cranes. This usually involves trim steel repairs through welding and using press machines for testing.
learned how to weld using TIG and MIG, learned how to operate overhead and pendant cranes, learned how to drive a forklift and maneuver items using it. Learned how to complete TMSs and PMs.
I enjoy learning and applying new skills. I especially enjoy welding specifically TIG.
The program is split into multiple sections which rotate every 3 months, giving apprentices plenty of time to familiarise and learn in their environment.
My employer is always ready and happy to assist whenever I come to them.
Whenever i am unsure or stuck on a question, I can always ask my employer for assistance.
I feel like the qualification helps my role greatly as the questions are tailored for my section.
There are charity champions and a newsletter team which gets members involved.
