My daily tasks include working on my own projects and leading my own project team, while also assisting more senior project managers taking small workstreams for their projects. I also work closely with the 2 new apprentices on the same programme as me with their apprenticeship work and training them on the activities i also do.
I have learnt many new skills including, how to use MS project to create a project plan, i have also developed my skills massively on excel, powerpoint and word which really contributes to my presentation skills. I feel that my confidence has also hugely developed and i am much more comfortable speaking to a variety of people which is crucial for my job.
I would say i really enjoy my programmed and the role i am in. I have learnt a lot from my role and apprenticeship which has allowed me to land a permanent role within my desired team and will allow me to grow into a better project manager.
In terms of the webinars provided to us, i feel the programmed was structured very well, they were set apart well and contained all the relevant info, the revision sessions before the exam were helpful also. I feel as if in terms of the off the job hours for the apprenticeship, this is significantly high and i have not only noticed this in myself but also with my peers.
I receive endless support from my employer. The future talent talent team put in 121's with me every so often to check on my progress with the programme and see how i am feeling surrounding it. I also receive massive amounts of support from my line manager with him helping to get me on different projects to expand my knowledge and skills, but also providing any advice i need and being a point of constant support throughout.
I recently have received a lot of support from my training provider and my TDO while working towards my PMQ re-sit and my EPA. I have monthly 121s with my TDO where we discuss my progress and she always offers any help. More recently we are having more frequent weekly 121's in preparation for my exam and she is providing me with lots of support. I also am being given revision sessions in preparation for my resit
I feel it has helped me perform better in my role in terms of understanding what my colleagues may be talking about sometimes and being able to input into the conversation, however what i have learnt on the programme has been very different to the kind of things we do in my organisation, so there is a slight gap.
There have been lots of volunteering activities i have been able to get involved with at my work, including bake sales, outreach events, helping with the new intake of apprentices, giving tours, helping out at the open evenings, There is also monthly apprentice lunches. And us as apprentices organise a lot of things ourselves to get us networking with eachother
Yes
It is a great company to work for because the people are great. They are so kind and everyone is always willing to help you. There is also lots of opportunity within computacenter as it is such a large organisation, there is always the opportunity and option to be able to move around and try new things
I would say to research the role you are applying for, as it shows great initiative in your interview, but also to research the company a lot, about what they do and what their main values and goals are, and speak about why you are interested in the role you are applying for and why you want to work for this company.
