Learnt new skills including measuring software including Adobe and Bluebeam. Developed my Excel skills considerably.
I am enjoying the programme a lot, I have seen great benefit in working alongside gaining my degree as I am able to put into practice the theory taught at University. I have also been able to develop a good knowledge of the construction process.
The programme is well structured, you are assigned a mentor to help you progress through the program and offer support within the workplace which has been helpful.
The support from Kier has been great. If I have a lot of Uni work, Kier ensure that I have adequate time within working hours to get it done. The support from the site teams has also been good, everyone is willing to help and support no matter their role.
Sheffield Hallam are very supportive. Lecturers tend to respond to emails/queries very quickly and they seem to understand the pressure that we are under with both working and completing a degree.
Some of the theory taught at Uni has a direct relationship to the work within the workplace, other areas can be less relevant.
Kier has many networks and groups to get involved in.
Yes
