My role as a General Manager involves over seeing the entire food and beverage operation within the venue, which includes everything from staff dining to high end delivery.
I developed new skills within the business leadership space, specifically how to use correct language to have the best impact.
I found the course enjoyable in parts, for example I thoroughly enjoyed the parts of the course which were directly relatable to my role. Some modules I found it more difficult to relate to my role and therefore struggled to engage with the material.
The course was well structured and very clear. Only criticism would be for each of the modules to be laid out in the same format.
My employer has been very supportive throughout the course, including support from my line manager and ongoing check ins from our apprenticeship team.
My initial coach was helpful however not effective. Once my latest coach took over my apprenticeship I feel I have really made progress and feel super supported.
The qualification I have gained I believe will help me for future roles, specifically as my role within the business grows having strong leadership skills will help me to make effective change for the business.
There are lots of opportunities to interact with peers in our business.

I have worked for this business for many years now, and at every point in my career the business has provided professional development and helped me to be the business leader I am today.
You get out what you put in. The business will help you, but you are responsible for your own success.
