I oversee the company's sustainability programme including reporting and monitoring our environmental performance and working with our suppliers to reduce our Scope 3 emissions. I collate information on our social value programme, Community Paintbrush, and monitor the effectiveness of these initiatives. I provide sustainability training to colleagues and support our teams with tender questions.
Even at the start of the apprenticeship programme, I have already begun to develop key skills required for a sustainability professional, including personal leadership. The programme is designed to allow for work-based skills to be developed alongside the course elements to develop my key skills and knowledge.
It has been very enjoyable so far and the plan looks very interesting and engaging.
It is really structured and organised so that I know what I am studying and when right up until the completion of the EPA. The days off-the-job are well organised so it is clear what the objectives of each session are in order to prepare for module assessments and completing the apprenticeship.
I couldn't ask for more - from applying and registering with the apprenticeship, to preparing for the residential right through to the support offered ahead of the modules, Bagnalls have been brilliant.
The tutors and course directors at Cranfield University have been excellent at providing support and materials to ensure that the apprenticeship programme is as stress-free as possible to enable me to work towards the qualification.
The course has been structured by industry professionals and is accredited by IEMA with lots of opportunity throughout the course to apply the learning directly to the job role and therefore help to develop my own ability in my role.
Bagnalls encourages me to get involved in professional networking events both locally and nationally. There are a range of social activities arranged throughout the year to make employees feel valued and part of the family.
