  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Managing a small team of subject matter experts to forecast and reforecast customer volumes for energy contracts. Conduct 121s, personal development plans, manage reporting suite, contribute and support on continuous improvements to processes, products, projects and system development.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • New skills: Power BI, SQL, Python, R

    9/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much! It just so happens that I'm involved with a 3rd party who is assisting our team with a machine learning solution, ML is also on the course that I'm on. I've already implemented power BI reports in my working role too.

    9/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is easy to follow, it contains a discovery, learn and apply stage for each module.

    9/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supports me a lot although, as expected, balancing learning with my work role is difficult at times.

    8/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Support is freely given and available, although I rarely ask for it, other than extending deadlines under times of duress.

    9/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Pretty well, it is difficult to gauge exactly how much at present, as the modules progress so there is very little time between the work role and coursework to implement the skills. I suspect this will pay more dividends once the course concludes.

    9/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, but I haven't joined any.

    5/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend E.ON to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a great progressive and inclusive company with a strong strategy and performance history where progression is encouraged and supported.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to E.ON?
  • Research the area you want to work in, look at what skillsets may be preferred and work on those if you don't already have them.
