My current status is a Higher Operations Apprentice at Ge Aviation Cheltenham. I have several rotations in my fist year and my first is in Sourcing, this involves talking to suppliers via telephone and email across the globe to meet demands and discuss where components are and if they meet our needed dates.
I have enhanced my communication skills because of talking to suppliers and work colleagues on a daily basis, also my presenting skills have improved by because of presenting infront of workers, school students and fellow apprentices.
Couldn't be happier with how it is going, there are many opportunities on a daily basis and challenging myself all the time and have suprised myself with how I am doing.
I feel very valued and not underminded by the company. During jy short time here I already feel part of the team and respected by others.
Although the programme is young and only 3 years old I believe it is doing well and learning all the time, no mistakes or problems have took placed so far.
Training is always available and everybody knows where and how to get it.
Support is always offered to us and we know who we can go to and where to talk about it, whether it's by email, telephone or face to face.
Perfectly, for an apprenticeship the salary is fantastic and grows yearly. Coudln't ask for much more.
Yes, whether it's volunteering or solcial events.
Yes
Beacause it's a great opportunity to get experience along side a University Degree whilst meeting new people and getting a foot in the door of a massive global company.
To be yourself and take any opportunity given to you. Opportunites like this won't come along a lot so appreciate what is out there.
