  • Exchange & replace electric and gas meters, replacement pipework when required.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Have learned alot of new skills such as soldering & constructing pipework, how to test on electric & gas meter aswell as gas appliances. Also categorising whether an appliance is faulty/at risk or immediatly dangerous & what labels to leave aswell as how to write safety notices and other relevant paperwork.

  • I have fully enjoyed the course so far and have learned alot of new skills a long the way.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • They recently re-structured the course to make it longer. My apprenticeship was the first of the year, and have experience some minor problems, such as changing when to take the MACOPA and when we got information about the RAS docs etc.

  • Support is great and always there when needed.

  • received great support leading upto my exams.

  • Feel more confident now im qualified when doing my jobs.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • So far i haven't experienced any extra curricular activities outside of my job but that may change as i get further into the job.

  • Yes

  • Great company to work for and they have a great apprenticeship programmes aswell as lots of opportunities to progress and upskill within the company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Gas?
  • Just be yourself when you have your interview, come across as genuine.
